So, I hope you’ll forgive me for not being so organized about having release day fun for Mistress’s Master. It comes out Tuesday (and is already up for pre-sale at Samhain, Amazon & B&N) by the way! I’m thrilled for the next installment in the Men in Blue series, please don’t doubt that. BUT… I’m on vacation! In Hawaii. And despite my best intentions, I’m guessing I might not be as diligent about posting the character interviews and contests I had planned.
So instead, I’m going to post some of the highlights of my trip and I’ll choose one commenter on the posts from now until release day to win a souvenir from Hawaii 🙂 Sound like fun? Good.
Day 1 – We arrived in Honolulu yesterday at 2:30 local time. Despite a long day of flying we hit Waikiki beach right away and tested our snorkel gear before wandering into a Japanese street fair (where I got an ENORMOUS cotton candy, I knew this was paradise) and then watched fireworks over the ocean. Here are a few pictures. Now it’s off to Hanauma Nature Preserve then to Pearl Harbor. See you all tomorrow!

Okay, so I won’t reveal exactly why but I hope you’ll find out for yourself. You see, it happened when I read Cari’s awesome book, Provoke Me. Provoke Me is the second in her Unveiled series from Ellora’s Cave.  I also read Reveal Me and loved that one too. I sent Cari an email gushing over it when I finished but couldn’t stop reading long enough to post to my blog about it before picking up book two. PS… If you are my editor and you are reading this, I promise I was hard at work on Devon’s Pair (Powertools #4) not goofing off, reading.
I also wanted to give a big shout out to Cari’s editor Jillian Bell. Both of the books were exceptionally clean. I didn’t notice a single typo in Reveal Me, which is something I can’t say for most books I’ve read lately (including my own, yipes).
So, long story short… If you’re looking for a hot, contemporary romance, give this one a shot. Plus it’s about people who work in a book store, what’s not to love about that?

As much as I enjoy writing, my books would really just be stories on my laptop if not for all of you readers. Every time someone sends me a simple note or an elaborate explanation of why they love something I’ve written I can’t tell you how much it means. The only thing better than chatting with readers online or through the mail is meeting them at conferences. I’ve met so many people that I keep in constant contact with through these great parties that I look forward to each one more and more. Seeing friendly faces and meeting new people is the highlight of my year.
SO… I wanted to tell you all about one of my favorite events. Lora Leigh’s Reader Appreciation Weekend is a blast. It’s a big party for people like us, who love to read! One of the first erotic romances I ever stumbled across was Marly’s Choice. And ever since then there was no turning back. I can’t tell you what a privilege is it to talk to some of my absolute favorite authors (Shayla Black and Mari Carr I’m looking at you too!).
Hey, I’m a reader first!   I’ve been to this event the past two years and it’s always great fun. There’s a PJ party and a masquerade. Don’t worry, if you’re not comfortable dressing up you can wear regular clothes, no worries. But this year I’m thinking of going all out since I skimped on the costumes at RT. What do you think? I’ll be pairing it with a feathery mask in true masquerade ball style (but you can wear any costume you like or none at all… well… you have to wear SOMETHING but it can be whatever you like).
And this year the event is going to be at a really great-looking resort in Maryland, the Rocky Gap Lodge and Golf Resort, from October 27th-30th. I can’t wait. You know why? The best new add to the schedule in my opinion is SMORES night. That’s right. Marshmallows. Mmmmm.
Okay, if that hasn’t convinced you then I’m not sure what will. Authors, books, raffles, SMORES, costume parties, goodies, and lots more are waiting. Come on over to Lora Leigh’s Reader Appreciation Weekend. Confirmed authors are listed on their site along with all the details you need to register. You can check it out here.
I’ll leave you with a snapshot from last year. Cause you have to love these readers! I hope to see you again or meet you there. Only 11 weeks left to go!

How great is this? On the Heat Wave reader yahoo loop today one of our cool reader friends, Susan, shared a link to Kindlegraph. It’s a site set up to allow you to get your Kindle books electronically signed by authors. Here’s how it works. You go to Evan’s site (he’s the guy who invented Kindlegraph!) and find a book you have. Actually I think as long as you have a kindle you don’t have to own the book to score a Kindlegraph but I haven’t tested that theory out yet. You can do this by searching or by clicking on the link in the header that says authors to see who’s playing. After that you click the button that says request a Kindlegraph. Or you can go direct to my page on their site if you’d like me to sign something. Easy peasy.
On the author side, we see a the person’s name and a little box opens for us to type in a note then sign away using our electronic signature. So far I’ve requested a bunch of my favorite authors. I’m hoping you’ll try it out. No more having to wait for conferences or send me a SASE to my PO Box for an autographed goodie (though you’re still welcome to do that, the address is on my contact me page). Now you can get a pretty instant note direct from the author on your Kindle. Sweet!
Happy reading and Kindlegraph collecting,
Jayne
