So, if you haven’t heard me screaming from the hills yet, Razor’s Edge is finally here! It releases officially tomorrow, but if you can’t wait it’s already available at MBaM here. HOOORAY! I can’t express how much I enjoyed writing this book, the sequel to Night is Darkest. I’m about to get started on writing book three, Jeremy Radisson’s story, any day now. Anyhooo…
It seems pretty fitting that on the same day Razor’s Edge releases, I was selected to be the erotica spotlight on RT Book Reviews website. How awesome is this? I’m flattered and excited to be featured. I hope you’ll all take a peek at some personal motivation behind the Men in Blue series.
Okay, but for the main event… I wanted to talk a little about Razor’s Edge and how important music is to the book. If you haven’t read the blurb/excerpt yet (feel free to check them out below) the hero and heroine end up as partners in a pro-am dance competition. Maybe that’s why every time I’d write a scene for this book a song would pop into my head. Not sure. But it did. Even more than usual.
For example, the first time Izzy and Razor dance together, they dance to Etta James’s “At Last”. *sigh* Razor has no idea what the song is but he knows it sounds classy and it appeals to him just as Isabella does from the very first note. By the same token, the first time Razor shakes his booty for Isabella, it’s to La Roux’s “Bulletproof.” Okay, I know, not very subtle. Still, for a guy who’s survived three gunshot wounds in the series so far… it seemed appropriate.
Those are just a couple, I can think of at least four other songs at pivotal moments. So if you choose to read maybe you’ll listen to them as you’re in those scenes and hear what I was hearing as I wrote them. Above all, I hope you enjoy the story!

Something I’m not really freaking great at but she knew that when she asked me to share what I’m grateful for so I figure that’s her problem. I mean, what if I busted out that I’m thankful for pepperoni pizza and a cold brew or the sexy moan my girl makes when I… Okay, okay! No need to slap me upside the head. Geez. It’s just that it’s not easy to go open kimono on all my feelings and shit, like this is some lame after-school special. The last year has been rough and the scars I have to prove it are no joke. Above all, I’m thankful that I discovered the one person in the world who could understand the marks betrayal can make on a person’s soul and how much more painful they are then the ripped up flesh I’m still sporting on my chest. I only wish she hadn’t had to endure her own hell to understand. Oh, yeah, and I’m thankful for sports cars, too!”

I don’t lie. The last several months have been some of the finest of my life, even counting in things other people seem to dread like buying a new house and preparing for a wedding. I’ll admit, every time I think of the big day I get some crazy grumblings in my stomach, like I ate some serious nachos, but it’s not cause I doubt for one instant that I’m making the right choice. I want everything to be perfect for mates (that sounds dumb but I don’t want to say their names, duh!). Nah, to me it’s more of a formality. Nothing could pull me away from the girl… and guy… I love ’til death and beyond. Above all else, I’m thankful they feel the same about me.”

Mystery Character #4: “Um, hello out there. *nervous laugh* Lacey and the Men in Blue asked me to come to Jayne’s blog to talk about what I’m thankful for. I’m not really used to having so many people who care about making me feel included. Or maybe just genuinely including me. It kind of freaks me out sometimes still because I wonder when I’m going to wake up from this beautiful dream and find myself trapped in my ex-husband’s mansion, oblivious to how amazing life can be when you’re surrounded by friends who care unconditionally about people they claim as part of their group. And, if I were honest, telling you about everything I’m thankful for would take up about a million pages. There’s one thing I can’t gloss over though. The most fantastic man on the face of the earth. Like me, he’s been through hell and come out the other side in tact, if bearing some vicious scars. Don’t tell him but I think they’re kind of sexy. Mostly because he proves to me every day that it’s possible to not only survive hardship but to thrive in the wake of tragedy. Together we’re making things work, learning, growing and sharing the life I never imagined I could have. Dang, now I need a tissue. Sorry, it’s just that love like ours doesn’t come around very often. It still awes me. See, like now, he’s right here with a box of tissue and put his arm around my shoulders. He knows what I need and never fails to make sure I have it. I’ll be eternally grateful for him. I’m thinking it’s time to wrap up here and show him just how much. *waves*”

I’ve just learned that some things in a man’s past, in his nature, are better left in the dark. I would never risk my bond with the Men in Blue and their gorgeous ladies. I’m thankful for every minute I spend with them. A man couldn’t ask for better people to be surrounded by. Hell, I even dated Lacey once before those two goons snapped her up. Maybe someday I’ll find someone as amazing as her or Isabella for my own, but I’m not holding out hope. Until then, I’m thankful for having found them. So, enough chatting, I’m going back to the party.”
