Dre raised an eyebrow at S.J. and then leaned over to speak directly into her ear. “This is the surprise?”
“Part of it,” S.J. shouted over the noise. “From that flush on your face, I’d say it’s doing the job. Keep watching. It gets hotter.”
Dre shifted in his seat. S.J. was right. The dancing was sexy as hell.

Today the contract for Shifting Gears, a follow up Cougar Challenge book to Driven, arrived in my inbox. I’m really excited to share Mark Rossi’s story plus the book features Sebastian and Lynn heavily if you wanted more after Driven!
As I was updating my website I realized I have a crapload of books in my coming soon list (hooray!). In fact, there are as many books listed to be released as there are already released. How cool is that? You can check out the details on my books page but here’s the low down for now in tentative release order:
- Through My Window – Exotika Quikie (Ellora’s Cave)
- Night is Darkest in PRINT – Men in Blue Book 1, novel (Samhain Publishing on September 7th, 2010)
- Shifting Gears – Cougar Challenge novella (Ellora’s Cave)
- Razor’s Edge – Men in Blue Book 2, sequel to Night is Darkest, 100K novel (Samhain Publishing in November 2010)
- Morgan’s Surprise – Powertools Book 2, sequel to Kate’s Crew, short story (Samhain Publishing in January 2011)
- Compass Brothers Series (four books co-authored with Mari Carr coming in 2011)
Whew! I’m off to celebrate with some ice cream. What else is new? 🙂

For this week we have a special treat! It’s Theresa Pillow, better known as T! from Ebook Addict Reviews. I first met T! on the Samhain Reader Cafe where she was always quick with encouragement and one of the few people still awake and on the loop when I’m writing late at night after the day job. She writes fantastic reviews on her site like this one:
“Fascinating world building is only the beginning when it comes to Jessica Freely’s Amaranth & Ash. I was totally blown away; I really have no other means to describe how utterly compelling and enthralling this story is. And it definitely left me wanting much, much more.
At first I was merely intrigued by the vasai and their male and female characteristics, but Jessica Freely did such an amazing job of making the vasai unusual, yes, but also real that I could envision them. And for people so beyond my ken that’s a pretty neat trick!
The characters, especially Ash and Amaranth, stole my heart; even more they co-opted my imagination and took me on their voyage of discovery and journey to love.
Ash is, supposedly, the lowest of the low; the chel are treated as though they’re good only for doing jobs no-one else wants and are practically soulless beasts. But Ash has never felt as though he fit in and was constantly searching for more… but more of what he never knew. Until, that is, he met and got to know Amaranth.
Amaranth is, seemingly, a class of people with everything good, but he does not feel this. He’s sure that there’s a lot more out there and he’s finding that doing his job is becoming more and more of a chore. He’s unsure of what it is he’s feeling, but he’s pretty sure he’ll know when he finds it. He’s right… and Ash is the key.
Two people who do not fit in their ‘categories’ and who feel that there is more of something out there, Ash and Amaranth are perfect for each other. Even with the horrendous attack on him, Ash has found what he’s been looking for. I truly loved watching as these two exceptional people discovered not only love, but something even greater.
This is a thrilling adventure, but also a beautiful and extremely fulfilling romance, on more than one level. It has the hallmarks of a saga in the scope of character and plot and yet is only 150 pages. Wow!
Jessica Freely has my full attention and you can bet that I’ve just begun my acquaintance with her vivid and memorable storytelling.
Kathy K. ”
So be sure to stop by International Heat this week and check out T!’s week to host the fun. She’ll also be giving away a bag of goodies from Bath and Body Works. Hope you’re enjoying the summer and the Meet the Heat marathon.
Happy Fourth of July!

A double news day! I love those 😛
First, check out the new cover art for Through My Window. Ohhhh Ahhhh It’s awesome isn’t it?
The book is an Exotika Quickie coming soon from Ellora’s Cave. I first got the idea for the story after visiting Amsterdam with my husband last year. The red light district was fascinating to me. I can imagine a series of stories about Star. I hope you enjoy! Here’s the scoop on Through My Window:
Through my window, a sea of strangers swirl and retreat like waves in an ocean of humanity. I brush my hair, fix my makeup and flip on the glaring red light in my booth before turning to face my audience on the other side of the glass.
For Star, this is just another night on the job, though no two are ever alike. She loves her career and excels at bringing her customers pleasure, relief or intimacy. Adaptable and perceptive, she becomes many things in the course of one evening–whore, lover, nurse, psychologist and friend. But above all, she’s still a woman. And her customers change her with every encounter. Through her window, she observes the world and enhances it when it spills into her realm.
Next up, Driven received a fantastic Five Cherry review from Long and Short Reviews! You can check out the entire review here but this is my favorite snippet, “Fast cars and an even faster moving hot Italian driver. The one word that comes to mind when I think of Jayne Rylon’s Driven…breathless!”
Also, you’ll be able to vote for Driven for book of the week starting Saturday morning. Whew! I love good news days.

I’m having a fantastic fun day. First, I wasted most of the morning by joining Facebook and then getting sucked into Fishville. Come friend me (I know, I’m the last person in the universe to take the plunge!). After that, my husband and I went out for a fabulous dinner including the best vanilla bean cheesecake topped with citrus soaked strawberries. YUM!!!
On the way home, we stopped at our local Barnes & Noble and I saw not one but BOTH of my print books (Three’s Company and Dream Machine) on the shelves. It still blows my mind every time I walk into a store and see them. Plus, I was on a high so I snagged Janet Evanovich’s Sizzling Sixteen in hardback. Check out the pictures!

Finally, saving the best for last… I just got word that Driven received another amazing review. This time from Coffee Time Romance who awarded it 5 cups!
You can read the whole review here but my favorite snippet is this part: “The dialogue and the settings were outstandingly written. Readers will receive support from characters of the previous books in the series, but I did not need to have read those books first. I am, however, planning on reading them all because Driven is so good. The sex is so excellent and hot that I suggest you have a loved one nearby…and ready. I am already looking for more books from Ms Rylon and can easily suggest Driven as a great, sexy tale.”
Here’s hoping the streak continues! What cool things are you doing this weekend?
